Looking for a crunchy snack the whole family will love? My Cinnamon Apple Chips are going to be your go-to favorite! These apple chips are vegan, paleo and gluten-free. They’re so easy to make, you’ll never buy store-bought again! Just 2 ingredients and a slice and sprinkle. That’s all it takes for your very own crispy feel-good snack.

These apple chips also have a taste of nostalgia to them, making them an even better comfort food swap! I was on CTV Ottawa Morning Live with host Henry Burris, retired CFL quarterback and lover of healthy food. He took one taste of my cinnamon apple chips with my Honey Nut Yogurt Dip and said, “These taste like Apple Jacks!” He was pumped and I was ecstatic. Dietitian win!

If you want to keep these vegan and serve with a dip, just sub some coconut yogurt for the Greek yogurt and you’re good to go.

Potato Chips and Dip Comfort Food Makeover

We all love the crisp crunch of potato chips, but all of the oil makes them high in calories and the salt keeps you coming back for more. Plus, if you’re eating your chips with creamy dip, you’re getting even more calories, saturated fat, sugar and salt.

If it’s the crunch you’re after, why not try subbing apple chips?!

Sub your potato chips and creamy dip with these healthier chips and dip, and you’re saving:

100 calories for 1 cup of chips and 300 calories for 1/2 cup of dip (400 calories total)!

And you’re getting:

Thanks to the apples, you’re getting more filling fiber and they’re a good source of vitamin C. Your Greek yogurt dip is giving you protein and calcium, nutrients linked to helping you manage your weight.

How awesome is that! You’re slashing the calories and boosting nutrition all at once.

Sub your chips & dip for this and save 300 calories! #nutrition Click To Tweet

Ingredients
  • 2 large apples cut into 2 mm (1/8") thick slices
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 250 degrees Fahrenheit. Cut the apple vertically around the core and discard the core. Using a mandolin, sharp knife or food processor attachment, thinly slice the apples vertically, trying to keep the slices the same thickness (2 mm thickness or 1/8 of an inch, or setting 3 on your food processor).
  2. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper. Place your apple slices on the sheets in a single layer and sprinkle with cinnamon. Bake your apple slices for 1 hour or until crisp. If they are still a bit moist after 1 hour, flip them over and keep checking every 15 minutes.
  3. Let your apple chips cool completely and enjoy with Honey Nut Yogurt Dip! If you have any leftovers that day, store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
