This Chocolate Mint Avocado Pudding is packed with heart-healthy fats and low in added sugars. It’s vegan, gluten-free and low carb (when you don’t top with fruit). It gets its creaminess from the avocado along with a generous dose of vitamin E for a strong immune system and glowing skin!

How much do you love Chocolate + Mint? It’s a classic coupling. Like Brad and Angelina… okay, bad example…

Chocolate and Mint go together like Peanut Butter and Jelly. They bring out the best in each other, making your tastebuds dance with delight.

Peppermint and chocolate mint desserts are synonymous with the holiday season, making this a perfect winter dessert. Really, I like a dose of chocolate goodness any time of year. Any time of day. Any time of night 😉

So what makes this avocado pudding better than your store-bought cup or box of pudding? Well, the ingredients list is whole foods, not stabilizers and other ingredients keeping that other pudding on the shelf for… years? Who knows how long! That can’t be good.

Plus, you can add real cocoa powder or cacao powder rather than “chocolate flavor” and dyes that can be in packaged puddings.

Health Benefits of Cocoa/Cacao

Cocoa’s is loaded with flavanols, phytochemicals that give chocolate its heart health benefits. They lower the risk of stroke and heart attacks by reducing blood pressure, making blood platelets less likely to clot, and improving blood flow to the heart and brain.

Fun fact: 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder have more antioxidant activity than 3 cups of green tea or 1 cup of blueberries!

To get the most flavanols, choose raw cacao or cocoa powder that has NOT undergone Dutch processing. Look for cocoa powder that doesn’t have “cocoa processed with alkali” on the ingredient label.

More Reasons to Love this Avocado Pudding

You can whip up this chocolate mint avocado pudding in minutes (5 of them) or if I’m feeling extra lazy I’ll just mash it up by hand. What’s the worst that could happen? Some chunks of creamy avocado goodness. I’ll take it!

This avocado pudding doesn’t contain any refined sugars, letting you control what goes into your food. Choose your favorite sweetener for a healthy, happy pudding you can feel good about! Technically, you can have this dessert as a snack thanks to the superfood ingredients. Snacking on chocolate? Yes please!

You can also get away with adding less sweetener if you pile your pudding high with fruit. Gold stars for towers of berries, cherries, and crunchy toppings like slivered almonds!
